The Cohesion Alliance is a coalition of those who believe that EU cohesion policy must continue to be a pillar of the EU’s future.
The Alliance was created through cooperation between the leading European associations of cities and regions and the European Committee of the Regions. It demands that the EU budget after 2020 makes cohesion policy stronger, more effective, visible and available for every region in the European Union.
On Europe Day on the 9th May 2020, the Cohesion Alliance partner organisations put forward a proposal for a renewed Declaration in view of the upcoming decisions on the EU’s next Multi-Annual Financial Framework and the EU Recovery Plan. The objective was to shape an inclusive new statement together with all stakeholders and institutions at European, national, regional and local level, including governments, businesses and civil society.
