Gustavo Matos received the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili

The President of the Parliament  of the Canary Islands and the President of the Conference of European Regional Legislative Assemblies (CALRE), Gustavo Matos, received this Thursday the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili, on the occasion of the visit that the head of this international United Nations organization makes these days for the eight islands to visualize their support for the recovery of safe and sustainable tourist destinations.

“The Canary Islands are prepared to receive tourists with open arms and masks on” said Matos in what was the first act held in the Chamber after the end of the state of alarm decreed by the Government of Spain on 14 March on the occasion of the COVID-19 pandemic. The President recalled that the Canary Islands “have always distinguished itself, as a tourist destination, for its safety in all areas,” also health, which provides a plus in competition with other destinations. “
