On march the 13th took place in Brussels the first Standing Committee of CALRE, chaired by President Raffaele Cattaneo. Among the issues under discussion, the organization of the World Forum of the Legislative Assemblies, which will be held between October 23 and 24 in Milan, on the occasion of EXPO, the construction of a network between the European regions, in particular between regional parliaments, and the necessity of a closer and more effective cooperation with NCSL (National Conference of State Legislatures). On the agenda, also the meeting with the President of the Committee of the Regions, the Finnish Markku Markkula.
During the work, has been unanimously approved the 2015 Working Program of CALRE, with next Standing Committees (July the 7th and October the 22nd) and the plenary session in Milan (October 22-23).
The first operational meeting of the CALRE Standing Committee has also treated the in-depth study of the European Commission working program 2015 on which, by next June, CALRE will assume an official position. Moreover, the schedules of the different working groups of the Conference have been shown by the coordinators.
The Standing Committee of CALRE is the permanent Committee which coordinates the work of the 74 regional parliaments, members of the Conference. Among the others, were also present the Vice President of CALRE Pilar Rojo Noguera (Galizia), the President of Walloon Parliament Andrè Antoine, the President of Lower Austria Hans Penz, the Portuguese Ana Luis, President of the Parliament of the Azores, the Finnish President Britt Lundberg of the Aland Islands Parliament, Manuel Gracia Navarro of Andalusia, the Presidents of the Italian Councils of Friuli Venezia Giulia Fraco Iacop, of Molise Vincenzo Niro and of Calabria Antonio Scalzo.
